Hear from the Members

 I can say that working alongside Abby Hilton for the past 2 years, I have seen her passion and conviction for 479 and its members, she will listen to the members and fight for them. I have also seen her immense depth of knowledge of labor law and labor management guidelines, things that are crucial for being an effective Secretary-Treasurer. it is because of this I endorse Abby Hilton for Secretary-Treasurer  

 Hey, my name is Tasia Taylor, 479 electrician, and I'll be casting my vote for Abby Hilton for General Secretary-Treasurer because she’s always been kind to me, even during her hardest moments. In addition, she went to go above and beyond to help me solve major issues with my dues, when others gave me misinformation. I will always appreciate a person who prioritizes humanity and visibly loves what they do, this is why I’m voting for Abby.  

History is vital to me, and Abby has worked to showcase the ongoings of our Local. These records are the story of our work. They are what future generations will look back upon to understand where we were and how we navigated the pitfalls of a fluctuating working environment. As a teacher, Abby has made sure we can know where we have been, so that our future is educated on our responses and the small, yet so often vital, moments of our meetings. We are stronger and will continue to be stronger because of her work and dedication.

She also represents a craft that has often been sorely overlooked, that of set teachers. Without Abby's tireless advocacy, set teachers may have once again been passed over when negotiating for our rights as workers. 

I am proud of the work that Abby Hilton has done as the Secretary-Treasurer of IATSE Local 479, and I endorse her to continue.
